About the Role

As a Diagnostic Technician, you’ll be responsible for accurately diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electrical faults, ensuring vehicles are maintained to manufacturer standards and delivered back to customers safely and efficiently.

You’ll work closely with the Workshop Controller, Service Advisors and wider workshop team to identify faults, develop effective repair solutions and maintain high standards of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced diagnostics across mechanical, electrical and electronic systems
  • Diagnose complex faults using manufacturer diagnostic equipment and technical information
  • Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance to manufacturer specifications
  • Conduct inspections and accurately identify required repairs
  • Complete diagnostic reports, job cards and technical documentation
  • Test and verify repairs to ensure faults are fully resolved
  • Provide technical support and guidance to fellow Technicians where required
  • Maintain high standards of quality, productivity and workshop safety
  • Work collaboratively with Service Advisors and Workshop Management
  • Keep up to date with evolving vehicle technology, diagnostic systems and repair methods

About You

We're looking for a technically skilled and motivated Technician who takes pride in accurate diagnosis and quality workmanship.

You'll Bring:

  • Automotive trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic/Technician
  • Proven experience as an Automotive or Diagnostic Technician
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and electronic diagnostic skills
  • Advanced fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience using automotive diagnostic equipment and scan tools
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to interpret technical information and manufacturer specifications
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong time management and ability to work in a fast-paced workshop
  • Current Australian Driver Licence
  • Toyota experience will be highly regarded, with exposure to other automotive brands an advantage.
